This is by far the best shop manual available for the Beetle and Ghia! I have a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Type I, and the Bentley Manual has helped me more than any other book during the car’s restoration. It has just about all the information you could need from a manual. And hey, it *is* the official service manual, published for Volkswagen!! There is only one downside which is not a major problem, if you know what you are doing, but certainly would help: there’s unfortunately no Index.

Haynes disassembles every subject vehicle and documents every step with thorough instructions and clear photos. Haynes repair manuals are used by the pros, but written for the do-it-yourselfer in this case for the VW beetle owner. Or anyone who wants to know how to maintain a Volkswagen Beetle.
